They say he sings songs about things he knows.
Well if that's about life and its consequences then that's what his lyrics are about.

He started composing in '96 and is releasing his 3rd album "Belfast Boy" in 2004.
The title track is typical of him and his style.

Belfast Boy is an album full of different sorts of songs (bluesy; folky; country; ballads and nonsense songs) that he writes as he says "very easily."

Lots of these songs were written about people he knows, places he's been, love he knew and things he's observed.
Some of them started life in Derryherk Co. Leitrim a place he goes to relax and have time to put down his ideas.

A dangerous thing to say something significant to Paul as the next day it's the idea for a song.

His 1st two albums "The Dreamer" in 98 and "Old Lovers" in 2000 are paths along the way to a very good Irish singer songwriter. Both were recorded with Colum Sands.
Recently he has supported Brian Kennedy; Juliet Turner and Mick Hanly and played all the local gigs and festivals. A contemporary as yet mostly undiscovered piece of excellent Irish songwriting.
